Watercolor paper must be used with care not to even touch it with one's fingers because natural oil will make spots.

Somehow I came up with two spots in the sky area that were impossible to remove by dry-brushing or scraping out with a razor blade.

This is one reason why I painted the birds--to cover those oil spots.  Here's a closup of the large bird.
